March 19 The Southern Revolutionary War Institute’s third symposium, “From Ramsour’s Mill to Guilford Courthouse: The War in North Carolina, June 1780-March 1781 - McCelvey Center, YorkThe Southern Revolutionary War Institute’s third symposium, “From Ramsour’s Mill to Guilford Courthouse: The War in North Carolina, June 1780-March 1781,” will be held March 19-20 at the McCelvey Center, 212 E. Jefferson St., York, SC. The symposium opens Friday evening with the screening of “All for Liberty,” a 2009 movie about the Revolutionary War in South Carolina, filmed in part at Historic Brattonsville and featuring local reenactors. Sessions on Saturday include Ferguson’s Invasion of N.C. by Scott Withrow, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse by Josh Howard, African Americans in the N.C. Continental Line by Mike Scoggins and Mapping the Race to the Dan by Bill Anderson. Cost is $100 for the two-day event and includes admission to the film and a reception Friday evening and catered lunch Saturday. Cost for Saturday only is $75 and includes catered lunch. Cost to attend the movie only is $10; $8 for Culture & Heritage Museums members.
